Kashi Vishwanath is among the most significant Shiva temples in India, and the Vishwanath Corridor completed in 2021 changed how a visit works. The corridor links the temple directly to the Ganga at Lalita Ghat, replacing a warren of lanes with a broad processional route.
The consequence for visitors is that there are now multiple gates, serving different queues and different kinds of access, and the gate you enter by determines your route. This is the single most common source of confusion — people queue at the wrong gate and lose an hour.
