Aatif Mir

Aatif has led the Kashmir Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar routes for twelve seasons, working the July-to-September window when the meadows are open and the passes are clear.

He is direct about access: when a route is closed for security or weather he says so rather than taking a deposit and hoping. Off-season he runs photography walks around Dal, the Mughal gardens and the chinar autumn.
